History: Built in Baltimore Co Cork by Billy Andy O'Driscol. This gig was christened Unité in honour of the United Irish Men, including Wolfe Tone who led the ill fated invasion to Bantry bay in 1796 where the original gig was captured. Unité is based in Bantry and is crewed by youth from the local community. She participated since 1990 to Atlantic Challenge and was victorious in 1994, 1996, 2000, 2002 and 2014 !
