History: The association "Y d'Ille yole de Rennes" was born in the Maurepas neighbourhood of Rennes in 1998 in response to the call « Défi Jeunes Marins 2000 ». The project to build a gig was realised with the "compagnons bâtisseurs" and two naval carpenters that permitted youngsters of a social insertion program to build "Y d'Ille", which was launched in 2000.
